This makes me proud

This is a great illustration of why I’m proud to teach where I do.

11-02-06_1158.jpgThis is a shot of one of our Physics classes, taught by Dr. M (the guy on the left, wearing a necktie). In the foreground, on the right, is our Upper School Principal, Mr. C, who has just hit a nice shot with his pitching wedge.

The students are using stopwatches to measure the length of time the ball is aloft; when they were done with that, they paced off the distance each ball travelled and will spend the next couple of classes computing, measuring and analyzing the parabolic accelleration they witnessed.

That’s cool; we didn’t get to do stuff like that when I was in high school.

The school is Mac crazy

Macs in the PC Lab.jpg

A shot of my classroom, the Computer Lab. Notice that, although there are 16 PCs running Win XP against the walls, only one student is actually using Windows – and four others have brought in their Macs.
